Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of reloopgear.com. They are short because the site is simple: it publishes editorial writing and links out to shops where you can buy things.

Last updated 23 October 2026

Este documento legal se mantiene únicamente en inglés para que su redacción no se desvíe entre idiomas. Si existe una traducción en otra parte del sitio, prevalece el texto en inglés.

1. What this site is

ReloopGear is an independent publication. It reviews consumer electronics with a focus on how repairable and long-lived they are, and it publishes buying guides and refurbished-market guidance.

ReloopGear is not a shop, a reseller, a marketplace or an agent. It does not take orders, hold stock, process payments, arrange shipping or handle returns. No contract of sale is ever formed between you and ReloopGear.

2. Commercial links and independence

Some outbound links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the retailer may pay this site a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the site is funded. The full explanation is on the Disclosure page, which forms part of these terms.

Affiliate relationships do not change scores, verdicts or rankings. Repair scores are calculated from a fixed five-criteria rubric published on the methodology page, and a product is never scored higher or lower because a programme pays more or pays nothing. Where no affiliate programme exists for a product we still review it; Fairphone and Valve are current examples.

3. Prices, availability and accuracy

Prices shown in articles are reference points captured on the date of the last update, and the update date is printed on every article. Consumer electronics prices move constantly and regional pricing varies.

Availability, specification, warranty terms, bundled accessories and regional variants are decided entirely by the retailer. Always treat the retailer's checkout page as the authoritative source. If you find a stale price or a dead link, tell us and it will be corrected.

4. No professional advice; repair at your own risk

Content here is general information for a general audience. It is not legal, financial, safety or professional engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for the manufacturer's documentation.

Repair and disassembly carry real risks: injury, fire, electric shock, destroyed components, voided warranties, and loss of water resistance even when a device is advertised as repairable. Guides describe what worked for the author on a specific unit. You are responsible for your own device, your own tools and your own decision to open it. If you are not confident, use an authorised repairer.

5. Intellectual property

The text, the repair scoring method and the site design are the property of ReloopGear and are protected by copyright. You may quote short excerpts with a clear attribution and a link to the original page. Republishing full articles, or reproducing the scoring data as your own, is not permitted without written permission.

Product names, brand names and logos referenced on this site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. Their use does not imply endorsement, sponsorship or any partnership beyond a disclosed commercial link.

6. Acceptable use

  • Do not scrape, mirror or bulk-download the site, or use automated tools in a way that degrades service for other readers.
  • Do not attempt to interfere with the site's operation, probe for vulnerabilities without written permission, or bypass access controls.
  • Do not misrepresent your relationship with ReloopGear, or use its name or scoring method to imply an endorsement you do not have.
  • Search engines and archival services may index the site under normal crawling rules as published in robots.txt.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We try hard to be accurate, but we do not warrant that any page is complete, current or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ReloopGear is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost data, damaged hardware, personal injury arising from repair attempts, or losses arising from a purchase made on a third-party site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to access this site, which is zero.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

9. Changes

These terms were last updated on 23 October 2026. They may be revised as the site evolves; the version published on this page at the time of your visit is the version that applies. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
